Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) will celebrate the 71st Karnataka Rajyotsava with ‘Karunada Vaibhava 2026’ on November 6, bringing together Kannadigas in Qatar for an evening of comedy, music, cultural performances and an award ceremony.
The official poster for the event was unveiled in the presence of dignitaries and representatives of various pro-Kannada organisations. The programme will begin at 4pm at the DPS-MIS Auditorium in Al Wakra.
Karnataka Sangha Qatar is affiliated with the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), which operates under the aegis of the Embassy of India in Doha.
The poster unveiling programme began with a welcome address by KSQ general secretary Sujith Kumar Hosadurga. Association president Subramanya Hebbagilu, in his presidential address, appealed to members and pro-Kannada organisations in Qatar to participate in large numbers and extend their support for the Rajyotsava celebrations.
Vice-president Anil Bhasagi, ICBF general secretary and former KSQ president Deepak Shetty, advisory committee chairman Dr Ravi Shetty, committee members Dr Sanjay Kudari and Mahesh Gowda, other managing committee members and representatives of various Kannada organisations attended the ceremony. Bhasagi proposed the vote of thanks.

A major highlight of the event will be the presentation of the ‘Qatar Kannada Sammana’ to veteran Kannada film actress and Karnataka Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Umashree. The award recognises her contributions to Kannada cinema and public life. She has also previously served as a state minister.
The entertainment line-up will feature comedy artistes Raghavendra (Ragini), Jaggappa and Sushmitha, known for ‘Comedy Khiladigalu’. Singers Mehboob Saab and Revanasiddha Phulari, known for ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, will present a musical programme, while Pranitha will anchor the event.
Members of Karnataka Sangha Qatar and other pro-Kannada organisations will also present music and dance performances.
KSQ president Subramanya Hebbagilu said the event would showcase Kannada language, art, culture and heritage while providing a common platform for Kannadigas in Qatar.
He said the combination of comedy, music, cultural programmes and the felicitation ceremony would add a special touch to this year’s Rajyotsava celebrations.
