Amit Shah flags alleged political links in narcotics supply chain to Punjab
Ludhiana: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has alleged that the supply of drugs to Punjab’s youth could not continue without political protection, questioning how narcotics entering the country through ports in Gujarat and Maharashtra eventually reach the state.
Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, Shah responded to allegations that drugs were entering India through Gujarat’s ports. He said narcotics worth around ₹20,000 crore had been seized at ports in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Questioning how the seized consignments, after being broken down into smaller packets, allegedly find their way to Punjab, Shah said the government was working to dismantle the network involved in the illegal trade.
He called for an investigation into whether political influence or protection was enabling the supply chain to operate and ensure that drugs reached young people in Punjab.
