Hyderabad: 2 held with gold valued at Rs 1.12cr at airport

Hyderabad: Two individuals have been apprehended at Hyderabad airport for attempting to smuggle gold worth Rs 1.12 crore. Customs officials acted on profiling information and intercepted the two passengers who had arrived from Jeddah.

During the inspection, it was discovered that one of the passengers had concealed gold in various items, including a portable speaker, light, and even their rectum. The other passenger had hidden the gold inside an iron box.

The officials determined that both individuals had committed an offense punishable under Section 132 and 135 of the Customs Act. As a result, they were arrested under Section 104 of the Customs Act for their involvement in gold smuggling.
