Terrorist attacks in Mali: 17 killed

Bandiagara (Mali): Tragedy struck Mali as two separate terrorist attacks claimed the lives of 17 individuals. The first attack unfolded on Saturday in Bodio village within the Bandiagara region, resulting in the death of 15 people and injuring two others. This information was conveyed by a statement released by the Bandiagara governorate. The second attack occurred on Sunday near a mine situated between Bodio village and Anakanda village, where two people lost their lives, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

In response to these distressing incidents, the Bandiagara governorate issued a statement on Monday. It stated that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the individuals responsible for these reprehensible acts. The statement reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the nation to persist in their enduring fight for the security and preservation of their country.

These attacks unfolded just one day after the handover of the Ogossagou camp, a military base situated in Bandiagara, from the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali to the Malian government. Despite these setbacks, the determination to counteract such acts of violence and safeguard the nation remains resolute.
