10 lecturers selected for KUPMA’s Bengaluru district Best Lecturer Awards

Bengaluru: Ten lecturers from pre-university colleges across Bengaluru have been selected for the Bengaluru district-level ‘Best Lecturer Award-2026’, instituted by the Karnataka Unaided Pre-University College Managements’ Association (KUPMA).

The awardees were unanimously chosen at a meeting of the KUPMA Bengaluru District Committee’s executive body held at Kadamba Hotel in Rajajinagar. The selection was based on their teaching experience, professional contributions, talent and service to education.

The recipients are Dr Lakshmi Prasanna of Vidyasoudha PU College, Roopa Pai of Kadambi PU College, Kruthika of Presidency PU College, Narendra of Vijaya Jyothi PU College, Sripriya of Dayananda Sagar PU College, G.K. Manjunath of Sheshadripuram PU College, Usharani of Soundarya PU College, Nethra of ASC PU College, Dr Vedavathi of Ganga PU College and Dr Padmavathi of JS PU College.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony scheduled for October 9 at 2.30pm at ASC PU College, near the Rajajinagar Tollgate.

The event will be attended by Nadoja Dr Wooday P. Krishna, honorary secretary of the Seshadripuram Educational Trust, and Dr Ushaprabha N. Nayak, vice-chairperson of Expert Educational Institutions, Mangaluru. KUPMA state and district committee office-bearers and other dignitaries are also expected to participate.

The awards are part of KUPMA’s initiative to recognise and honour outstanding lecturers across Karnataka, in line with directions from its state committee.

Dr Devaraj, secretary of the Bengaluru District Committee, along with Keerthan Kumar, president of Bengaluru North, and Dr Jayaram Shetty, president of Bengaluru South, said this was the first time the Bengaluru District Committee was presenting the awards. They said the initiative would continue in the coming years to recognise the contributions of lecturers to education.
