BJP’s new national office-bearers conduct workshop on public outreach

New Delhi, Aug 22 (IANS) The recently constituted body of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national office bearers held its first meeting in New Delhi on Saturday and also conducted a workshop on the proposed month‑long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan beginning September 17, on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, to carry the spirit of service to every section of society.
The campaign, to be conducted across the country to mark Prime Minister Modi’s 25 years of public life, will run from September 17 to October 17, National General Secretary Vinod Tawde said, addressing the media after the meeting.
Under this initiative, the party will organise various service activities and programmes to connect beneficiaries with government schemes and engage youth in service and innovation. Tawde added that the party is making extensive preparations to take the campaign effectively across the country, right up to the booth level.
The workshop was organised for all state party Presidents, Organisation General Secretaries, and teams of seven to eight karyakartas selected from each state. Tawde said that every year, on September 17, the BJP organises Seva Pakhwada across the country on the occasion of Prime Minister Modi’s birth anniversary, whose life has been closely associated with the spirit of service.
This year marks a special occasion, he pointed out, with the Prime Minister reaching the milestone of 25 years in public life since he took the oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001. The party has therefore decided to commemorate it with a month‑long programme across the country.
Under the campaign, Anganwadi workers will be honoured, and Matri Samvad programmes will be organised with them. Anganwadi workers play an important role at the grassroots level in ensuring children’s nutrition and care under several government schemes, Tawde said. BJP workers will reach more than 1.4 million Anganwadi centres across the country and honour workers serving with dedication.
He shared that a Seva Mein Mera Yogdan initiative will also be organised, where citizens, particularly the youth, will be encouraged to create reels showcasing service activities undertaken during the campaign and use them to inspire others. Service activities such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation, and identifying tuberculosis patients under the TB eradication campaign and connecting them with government schemes will be highlighted through creative mediums. Youth-created reels will be shared at the district and state levels to inspire more people to take up service activities.
The BJP National General Secretary said that through the Seva Setu Abhiyan, it will ensure that no eligible person is deprived of the benefits of public welfare schemes launched during Prime Minister Modi’s tenure. Concerned departments will organise camps at the block level for 15 days to reach out and ensure that no eligible person is left out of schemes such as Ayushman Bharat or the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Those seeking to include their names can visit these camps, fill out the required forms, and enrol themselves in the respective scheme.
Seva Setu Abhiyan will thus serve as an effective bridge between the government’s schemes and their actual beneficiaries, he said.
Tawde further stated that a National Innovation Challenge will also be organised to encourage the talent and innovative potential of the youth. They will be made aware of the problems in their locality and allowed to present solutions through research and innovation. Competitions will be organised at the block, district, and state levels, enabling creative and innovative solutions to local problems to emerge.
According to Tawde, while the national‑level workshop was completed today, state‑level workshops will be organised by August 31, followed by district‑ and block‑level workshops over the next five to seven days.
