BRS leader Rama Rao asks CM Revanth Reddy to apologise for allegations

Hyderabad, July 23 (IANS) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday said that he will send a legal notice to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his allegation linking him to a company allegedly involved in irregularities in the Intermediate examination results.

The former minister asked the Chief Minister to apologise for his allegation or face legal action.

The BRS leader made it clear that he or his family have no links to Globarena.

Rama Rao said in a post on ‘X’ that Telangana Chief Minister should start acting like a Chief Minister at least once in his solo term.

“Resorting to peddling fake news on a very unfortunate incident like paper leaks is abhorrent and defaming to your position. Don’t use that for your cheap agendas,” said K.T. Rama Rao.

“Let me reiterate once again – BRS or my family or I have NO links to Globarena whatsoever. My legal team is shortly sending you a notice to either apologise or face legal action. Mr. Cheap Minister, Most of the times, I don’t respond to your vulgar and wild allegations because they are absurd to begin with. My silence doesn’t mean I agree with you. It just that I don’t like wrestling in the dirt,” added K.T. Rama Rao.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had made the allegation against K.T. Rama Rao while addressing a rally on Wednesday in his constituency Kodangal to protest against the detention of Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders in New Delhi during their protest in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence over NEET question paper leak.

The Chief Minister alleged that that in 2019, when the BRS was in power in Telangana, Globarena committed irregularities in the Intermediate examination results, leading to the loss of 27 students’ lives.

He alleged that Globarena was a proxy company linked to K.T. Rama Rao. He also claimed that K.T. Rama Rao awarded the project to Globarena due to political pressure, despite the company lacking the necessary experience and qualifications.

CM Revanth Reddy said that after the Congress party came to power in Telangana, Globarena rebranded itself as Coempt Education and approached the Central government. He alleged that K.T. Rama Rao facilitated a contract for them through the BJP leadership in Delhi.
