CBN Holds Five Drug Awareness Programmes for Youth in Madhya Pradesh
News Delhi: The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Madhya Pradesh Unit, organised five drug-awareness programmes across educational institutions in Neemuch, Jaora, Jawad, Mandsaur and Garoth during October as part of its Mission Yuva Raksha initiative.
Conducted in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris at select locations, the programmes aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
The first programme was held on October 5 at Swami Vivekanand Government PG College in Neemuch, attracting around 200 students and teachers. On October 13, approximately 225 students, faculty members and staff participated in an awareness session at Sardar Patel College of Nursing in Jaora.
On October 15, programmes were organised at three institutions. Around 450 students and teachers attended the session at CM Rise Government School in Jawad. Another 450 students participated at CM Rise School in Sabakheda, Mandsaur, while approximately 230 students attended the programme at Sanskar Valley Higher Secondary School in Garoth.

The sessions highlighted the effects of drug abuse on physical and mental health, education, family life and career prospects. Activities included interactive discussions, question-and-answer competitions, educational videos, presentations, meditation and poster-making.
Participants were encouraged to avoid substance abuse, adopt healthy lifestyles and spread awareness within their families and communities. Students also took pledges to remain drug-free and support prevention initiatives.
The CBN said the programmes reflected its commitment to complementing enforcement measures with preventive education and demand-reduction efforts, particularly among young people.
By engaging educational institutions and promoting interactive learning, the initiative seeks to empower students to make informed decisions and become advocates for drug prevention.
The programmes form part of the broader effort to advance the Nasha Mukt Bharat vision of a healthier and drug-free society.
