Karnataka to Issue Separate Notification for SC/ST Backlog Vacancies
Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr G. Parameshwara on said a cabinet subcommittee constituted under his chairmanship to review the filling of backlog vacancies for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) had taken important decisions to expedite the recruitment process.
The subcommittee directed officials to issue a separate notification covering backlog vacancies across the state and ensure that these posts are not merged with the ongoing recruitment process, Parameshwara said.
He added that a decision on the district-wise distribution of the vacancies would be taken after the notification was issued.

Focus on filling backlog posts
The decision is aimed at streamlining recruitment to long-pending SC/ST backlog posts and creating employment opportunities for eligible candidates.
Parameshwara said the move would mark a significant milestone in implementing social justice by facilitating the filling of reserved vacancies.
The subcommittee’s decisions are expected to provide a separate framework for recruiting candidates to the backlog posts, distinct from the recruitment processes currently underway.
