Nuh violence; Over 400 migrant families of a particular community leaving for their native places

Gurugram : The recent Nuh violence in Gurugram has resulted in over 400 migrant families of a particular community leaving for their native places. In Palda village, 20 families have fled, while in Sector 70, nearly 400 families, mostly migrant workers from West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand, have been forced to leave their slums. It is reported that some individuals threatened to kill them and warned of setting their slums on fire if they did not leave.

In the aftermath of the violence, barber shops, scrap shops, and hotels operated by members of the Muslim community in Gurugram were locked. Previously, a significant number of migrant families resided in Manesar and surrounding areas.

One individual from the minority community expressed fear after a group of people on motorcycles threatened them, leading them to leave. The police deployment has increased in Gurugram following the violent incident, but the affected families remain apprehensive. They plan to return when the situation improves.

The Gurugram district administration has provided assurances that the migrant families will be protected, and police security has been strengthened, especially in sensitive areas across Gurugram. Measures are being taken to address the situation and ensure the safety of the affected communities.
