Shaan remembers SP Balasubrahmanyam on his 80th birth anniversary; says ‘he is alive through his music’

Mumbai, June 5 (IANS) Singer Shaan paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam on his 80th birth anniversary on June 5.

Taking to his social media account, Shaan shared a the late singer and remembered him as a timeless musical icon whose voice continues to resonate with millions across generations.

The picture featured SP Balasubrahmanyam smiling warmly while dressed in a traditional maroon outfit with a cream-and-gold shawl draped over his shoulder.

Sharing the post, Shaan wrote, “Wishing Shri S.P. Balasubramanium Ji a Very Very 80th Happy Birthday !!! He may not be here physically but through his music and Magical Voice … He is here with us .. Now and Forever !!”

Earlier, actor Jackie Shroff too had penned a post for the legendary singer.

In a story on his social media account, the actor has remembered S. P. Balasubrahmanyam with a photograph of the legendary singer smiling while holding a microphone.

The tribute was set to the song ‘Yeh Mera Dil Toh Paagal Hai’, sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and Asha Bhosle. The post read, ‘Remembering S P Balasubrahmanyam ji on his birth anniversary.’

Talking about SP Balasubrahmanyam, the singer who passed away in September 2020, recorded more than 40,000 songs in multiple languages during a career spanning over five decades.

The singer was fondly known as SPB, and was born on June 4, 1946.

Some of his most memorable Hindi songs include ‘Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali’ from ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar Hai’ from ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’, ‘Bahut Pyar Karte Hain’ from ‘Saajan’, and ‘Yeh Haseen Vadiyan’ from ‘Roja’.

The legendary singer passed away on September 25, 2020, at the age of 74 due to complications arising from COVID-19.
