‘Shouldn’t other governments complete projects you started?’ K’taka Congress hits out at JD(S)

Bengaluru: The Congress has launched a fresh attack on JD(S) leaders over the Bidadi Township and NICE projects, questioning their objections to the government taking forward initiatives started during the tenure of former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda.

In a post on X, the Congress questioned whether successive governments should not complete projects initiated by previous administrations.

‘Why didn’t Kumaraswamy act when he was in power?’

The Congress said Kumaraswamy had initiated the Bidadi Township project, while Deve Gowda was the “father” of the NICE project.

“If you started the project, is it wrong for another government to complete it?” the party asked, accusing JD(S) leaders of adopting double standards by claiming that actions taken by them were right while opposing similar moves by others.

The Congress also questioned why Kumaraswamy did not abandon the Bidadi Township project when he was Chief Minister in 2018, and why he did not take action in the NICE matter during his tenure.

The ruling party alleged that the JD(S) leader had failed to act while in power and was now raising the issues for political reasons. It questioned whether people would be misled by such “political drama.”
