Telangana BJP demands CM Revanth Reddy’s resignation as Education Minister over fee reimbursement
Hyderabad, July 26 (IANS) Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President N. Ramchander Rao on Sunday demanded that the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy should pay pending fee reimbursement dues within a week or resign as the state Education Minister.
He alleged that Revanth Reddy has put the future of nearly 20 lakh students at risk by failing to clear the dues of Rs 12,000 crore.
“We have proved our sincerity, you should prove yours,” he said while referring to resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister over the NEET paper leak.
The State BJP Chief told reporters that Revanth Reddy should pay the dues or resign as Education Minister to handover the reins to someone else.
He criticised the Chief Minister for leading a rally in Hyderabad over alleged police brutalities on protesting students and youth in New Delhi.
“I am appalled by the radio silence of the so-called custodians of youth over the pending fee reimbursement crisis in Congress-ruled Telangana, where nearly 20 lakh students are unable to pursue higher education or employment because their certificates have been withheld,” Ramchander Rao said in a post on social media platform X.
Meanwhile, BJP MP D.K. Aruna alleged that an individual associated with the Aam Admi Party (AAP) attempted to incite the youth in a bid to destabilise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
She also claimed that the protest in Delhi saw more participants from outside areas than actual students.
She alleged that anti-nationals planned to incite riots by sending funds from abroad.
She claimed that the Centre took all necessary measures to protect the interests of the students following NEET paper leak.
The BJP MP said the Centre rectified the mistake by cancelling the NEET exam immediately after the paper leak and conducted a re-examination within a short period.
Aruna alleged that Congress instigated the youth to ridicule the nation’s reputation and Prime Minister Modi.
She said as the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi is not prepared to debate a single issue in Parliament but he wears black clothes and stages protests on the streets.
“Corruption is rampant in states where the Congress is in power. Money-generating syndicates from those states are funneling funds to the Congress party in Delhi,” she added.
Alleging that Group-1 exam paper was leaked during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government in Telangana, she asked why nobody resigned then.
“The Class 10 exam paper was leaked under the current government. Has anybody resigned,” she asked?
