Hyderabad, Aug 11 (IANS) Five persons were killed, and seven were injured when a tanker rammed into an autorickshaw in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Tuesday.

The accident occurred at New Satwar in Zahirabad mandal.

The injured have been admitted to Area Hospital in Zahirabad. The victims were farm labourers from Karnataka’s Bidar district and were travelling in the autorickshaw.

Farm labourers from the neighbouring Karnataka travel to Zahirabad and surrounding areas for work.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed shock over the horrific road accident.

He conveyed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that those injured in the accident receive the best medical treatment.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed in another accident in Sangareddy district.

According to police, the accident occurred on National Highway 65 near Venkatapur crossroads in Kohir mandal.

The accident took place when a car lost control and, after hitting the divider, rammed into the vehicles on the other side of the road.

Four vehicles were damaged in the accident, which led to a traffic jam on the highway. Police rushed to the spot and cleared the damaged vehicles and restored vehicular traffic.

Meanwhile, in a tragic incident, a 23-year-old woman and her two-year-old son were run over by a train in Hyderabad.

The woman, identified as Anusha, was clearing bushes near the railway track between Badvel-Shivrampalli railway stations. A total of 15 workers were engaged in the work.

According to railway police, Anusha’s son Tirinath, who was playing nearby, walked onto the track. She rushed to bring him back. Since it was a turning, she could not notice the approaching train. Both the woman and her son were crushed under the Karnataka Sampark Kranthi Express, which was heading to Bengaluru Yeshwantpur from Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi.

The woman hailed from a village in Warangal district and had migrated to Hyderabad to work as a labourer.
